The Baker's Prophecy

Updated: Apr 24

We continue tracing the life of Joseph at one of the darkest points in his journey—confined in prison, yet still faithful, still attentive to God, and still entrusted with interpreting dreams.

What makes this moment especially striking is that nothing in Joseph’s circumstances suggests progress or breakthrough. There is no visible reward for his integrity, no immediate sign that his situation is improving. Yet even here, in obscurity and confinement, God is still at work—revealing truth, shaping outcomes, and quietly advancing a larger purpose that Joseph himself cannot yet see.

Genesis 40:22 — “But he hanged the chief baker, as Joseph had interpreted to them.”

In this moment, Joseph interprets two dreams: one of restoration, the other of judgment. Both unfold exactly as he said.

It’s a sobering reminder that when God speaks, reality aligns with His word—not the other way around.

The baker likely hoped Joseph was mistaken. Perhaps he spent those three days clinging to denial, searching for another outcome. But truth does not dissolve simply because we wish it would. The same God who promised life to the cupbearer also declared judgment over the baker—and both came to pass.

We live in a world that often treats truth as flexible, something to be shaped by perspective or preference. But Genesis 40 confronts that idea directly: God’s truth is fixed, and it will be fulfilled.

The baker’s fate is stark. There is no explanation given for his crime, no defence recorded, no last-minute reversal. Judgment comes, and it is final.

That can be uncomfortable. It brings us face to face with something we often try to avoid—accountability.

We tend to prefer narratives where everything resolves neatly, where everyone is restored. But Scripture does not shy away from the reality that justice includes consequences. The baker’s death stands as a sobering witness that wrongdoing is not ultimately ignored.

And yet, the judgment here is not arbitrary. It unfolds under the authority of the king and according to the interpretation revealed through Joseph. In the broader biblical story, this points to a God who judges not impulsively, but righteously.

Genesis 40:20-23 And it came to pass the third day, which was Pharaoh's birthday, that he made a feast unto all his servants: and he lifted up the head of the chief butler and of the chief baker among his servants. And he restored the chief butler unto his butlership again; and he gave the cup into Pharaoh's hand: but he hanged the chief baker.

The death of the Baker

This passage has also caused me to reflect on a personal experience.

In 2022, I privately reached out to a ministry connected with bread making, encouraging them to pray and dedicate their finances to God. After about three weeks of silence, they responded publicly—not with engagement, but with slander, even suggesting the opposite of what I had shared. I remember feeling genuinely shocked by their approach.

Still, I chose to pray for them. I asked for the Lord’s will to be done.

In 2023, I had a dream about this same ministry. In the dream, I sensed a connection to the baker in Genesis 40 given their ministry was about bread.

Now in 2026, the same leader of that ministry is dying of cancer. It brought back that earlier passage to mind—the three days (meaning 3 years 2023 to 2026) before the baker’s outcome—and I couldn’t help but reflect on how, at times, what feels brief in Scripture can stretch into years in real life.

Lessons for all - True Repentance

I believe God gives each of us time to repent. There is often a space—sometimes longer than we expect—where change is still possible, where a different response can be chosen. That delay is not indifference, but mercy.

At the same time, I’ve been reflecting on the nature of repentance itself. When something is done publicly—especially words that harm, mislead, or misrepresent—there is a weight to addressing it publicly.

Private repentance matters deeply. But it may not fully restore what was affected in the public space.

The Butler and the Baker

[Music]

Jesus, my Saviour, Lord—there is no one like You.

Hello everybody. Today we lift up the name of Jesus, because it is only through Him that all things are possible.

Today, we’re going to talk about the mystery of the butler and the baker.

I recently shared a short clip about a dream I had on March 7th 2023. I felt it was important to release it on that day because it coincided with Purim—a Jewish celebration of Esther’s victory over Haman. Although I had the dream at 4 a.m., I sensed urgency to share it, even briefly, before going into deeper explanation.

In this video, I’ll unpack that dream—but first, I want to teach about the butler.

Joseph and Divine Connections

Joseph had key connections in his life. Recently, the Lord has been highlighting themes like:

  • Partnership

  • Alignment

  • Stewardship

  • Collaboration

One of Joseph’s key alignments was the butler.

In Genesis 40, it says, “it came to pass…”—this phrase is important. It shows that there is a set time for divine alignment.

There is:

  • A set time for your butler to appear

  • A set time for your butler to remember you

In Genesis 41, the butler finally remembers Joseph when Pharaoh has a dream. Everything happened at the appointed time:

  • The imprisonment

  • The dreams

  • The remembrance

The butler had forgotten Joseph earlier, but later admitted his failure. Still, God used him.

This teaches us:God sends people on assignment to elevate you—even if it doesn’t look like it at first.

Joseph’s Three Mantles

Joseph operated in three roles:

  • Prophet

  • Priest

  • King

Prophet: He received dreams that came to pass.Priest: He served others—Potiphar, the prisoners, the butler, and the baker.King: He was later elevated to authority.

Joseph is a type and shadow of Jesus:

  • Jesus was prophetic

  • Jesus served (priestly role)

  • Jesus is King of Kings

As believers, we are also called to:

  • Be prophetic

  • Serve (royal priesthood)

  • Reign with Christ

The Butler and the Baker: Spiritual Symbolism

  • The butler (cupbearer) → represents wine → the blood

  • The baker → represents bread → the body

God sent both to Joseph in prison.

This is powerful:

  • The blood and the body sustained Joseph in hardship

  • Just as communion sustains believers today

The butler later speaks before Pharaoh—just as the blood “speaks” on our behalf.

Destiny Helpers

We all need three types of people:

1. The Butler

  • Opens doors

  • Creates opportunities

  • Speaks on your behalf

2. The Baker

  • Feeds you spiritually

  • Teaches and grows you

  • Gives insight

3. Pharaoh

  • Finances or resources your vision

  • Positions you in influence

We are not meant to operate in isolation.

Discernment in Relationships

Your circle matters. The right people will:

  • Challenge you (not condemn you)

  • Correct you

  • Help you grow

  • Draw out your gifts

Key principle:

  • Condemnation → not from God

  • Challenge → often from God

Walking in Purpose

When you walk in your purpose:

  • You don’t need to chase connections

  • The right people align naturally

Joseph didn’t chase the butler—the butler was sent.

Sudden Elevation

Joseph waited 13 years.Then suddenly:

  • Pharaoh dreamed

  • The butler remembered

  • Joseph was elevated

God works in sudden moments after long preparation.

The Dream

In my dream:

  • A butler pushed a silver trolley

  • He was important but unknown

  • He was linked to a powerful system

He spoke only twice:

  1. “You need to change your shoes” (to the baker)

  2. “This is going to be unpleasant”

We entered an elevator going to a VIP area—but instead:

  • It plummeted downward suddenly

During the fall:

  • The baker was crushed

  • The butler’s face turned red

  • I floated unharmed

At the end:

  • The butler and I were fine

  • The baker died

Interpretation

  • Shoes → readiness (gospel readiness, preparedness)

  • Elevator → systems/markets

  • Free fall → sudden collapse

  • Red face → warning (symbolic of decline or crisis)

  • Baker’s death → lack of preparedness

The message:Be ready. What is coming will be sudden and unpleasant for the unprepared.

Final Thoughts

God aligns us with people for purpose.Your destiny helpers matter.

Stay ready. Stay aligned. Stay in purpose.

Spend time with God. Take communion. Remember His goodness.

May this message encourage and strengthen you.

Shabbat shalom.

I read your biog Prophetess Kim and the "Bread" channel should have never come against the suggestion to make a covenant with God. She should have left that alone and minded her own business. Instead she chose to make an erroneous "exposure" video which is still up today. It's no wonder the stage 4 cancer is violent.

And all these scriptures come to mind.

1 Samuel 26:9 But David said to Abishai, “Do not destroy him, for who can extend a hand against the LORD’s anointed and be guiltless?”

Genesis 12:17 The LORD, however, afflicted Pharaoh and his household with severe plagues 🔥

Dear Kim, I think I am the butler in the dream because the Lord gave me the interpretation to all her dreams about silver. She ignored them too.
