Matthew 16:13-20 Peter Declares That Jesus Is the Messiah

13 When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?”14 They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”

15 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?”

16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”

17 Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. 18 And I tell you that you are Peter,[a] and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades[b] will not overcome it. 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be[c] bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be[d] loosed in heaven.” 20 Then he ordered his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Messiah.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

1. God

  • We believe in the Father, YHWH; the Son, YESHUA (Jesus the Messiah); and the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) — One God revealed in a triune nature.

    • Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John 1:1–3; 2 Corinthians 13:14

  • We believe YESHUA is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End, the Author and Finisher of our faith, our Passover Lamb, the Lion of Judah, our Redeemer, and soon-coming King.

    • Revelation 1:8; Hebrews 12:2; John 1:29; Revelation 5:5

2. Scripture

  • We believe the Holy Scriptures — both the Tanakh (Old Testament) and the Brit Chadashah (New Testament) — are the inspired Word of God, infallible and eternal truth.

    • 2 Timothy 3:16–17; Psalm 119:160; Matthew 24:35

  • We believe the Bible is best understood through its original Hebraic roots. YESHUA was born a Jew, lived a Jewish life, and fulfilled the Torah and the Prophets.

    • Matthew 5:17; John 4:22; Romans 11:17–18

3. Salvation

  • We believe in the life, death, burial, and resurrection of YESHUA the Messiah, the promised Mashiach of Israel, whose atoning sacrifice and shed blood cleanse us from sin and reconcile us to YHWH.

    • Isaiah 53:5–7; John 1:29; Romans 5:8–9; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4

  • We believe in immersion in water (mikvah baptism) as a public declaration of faith in YESHUA, symbolising death to the old self and new life in Him.

    • Romans 6:3–4; Matthew 3:16; Acts 2:38

  • We believe that YESHUA is the only way to the Father. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

    • John 14:6; Acts 4:12; 1 Timothy 2:5

4. The Body of Messiah

  • We believe in the Five-Fold Ministry: apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers, given for the equipping of the saints and the building up of the Body.

    • Ephesians 4:11–13; 1 Corinthians 12:28

  • We believe in the gifts of the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit), including speaking in tongues, prophecy, healing, and discernment — for today and for the edification of the Body.

    • 1 Corinthians 12:4–11; Acts 2:4; Acts 19:6

  • We pray and prophesy with our heads covered in accordance with Scripture, honouring biblical order.

    • 1 Corinthians 11:4–5

  • We believe in the ministry of deliverance, as YESHUA came to set captives free, heal the broken-hearted, and give liberty to the oppressed.

    • Luke 4:18–19; Mark 16:17; John 8:36

5. Marriage & Family

  • We believe marriage is a holy covenant instituted by YHWH between one man and one woman, reflecting Messiah’s covenant love for His Bride.

    • Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4–6; Ephesians 5:31–32

  • We believe husbands are called to love their wives as Messiah loves the Body, and wives are called to respect and support their husbands.

    • Ephesians 5:22–25; Colossians 3:18–19; 1 Peter 3:1–7

  • We believe children are a heritage from YHWH and should be raised in His ways, instructed in Torah and in Messiah’s teachings.

    • Psalm 127:3; Deuteronomy 6:6–7; Proverbs 22:6; Ephesians 6:1–4

  • We believe sexual intimacy is a gift of God to be expressed only within marriage; all sexual activity outside this covenant is sin.

    • 1 Corinthians 6:18–20; Hebrews 13:4; Leviticus 18:22; Romans 1:26–27

6. Israel & HER Covenants

  • We believe Israel remains central to God’s redemptive plan. The covenant promises to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob are everlasting, and Gentile believers are grafted into Israel through faith in YESHUA.

    • Genesis 17:7–8; Romans 11:17–26; Jeremiah 31:35–37

  • We believe in keeping the Feasts of YHWH: Passover, Unleavened Bread, First Fruits, Shavuot, Yom Teruah, Yom Kippur, and Sukkot — eternal appointments pointing to YESHUA.

    • Leviticus 23:1–44; Exodus 23:14–17; Zechariah 14:16; Colossians 2:16–17

  • We believe in the sanctity of Shabbat (the seventh-day Sabbath) as a covenant sign between YHWH and His people, to be kept holy.

    • Exodus 20:8–11; Isaiah 58:13–14; Hebrews 4:9–10

  • We believe love for YHWH is demonstrated through obedience to His commandments and Torah — not for salvation, but as evidence of covenant faith.

    • John 14:15; 1 John 2:3–6; Deuteronomy 30:16

7. JESUS is coming

  • We believe in the Second Coming of YESHUA the Messiah, who will return for His Bride and establish His Kingdom on earth from Jerusalem, ruling in righteousness and peace.

    • Matthew 24:30–31; Acts 1:11; Zechariah 14:4; Revelation 22:12

8. Eternal Life

  • We believe in the resurrection of the dead and eternal life: the righteous to everlasting life with YHWH, the unrighteous to eternal judgement.

    • Daniel 12:2; John 5:28–29; Revelation 20:12–15

9. Ethics

  • We believe in living holy lives, reflecting Messiah’s character in word and deed.

    • 1 Peter 1:15–16; Romans 12:1–2

  • We believe in honesty, integrity, humility, modesty, charity, care for the poor, and stewardship of creation.

    • Micah 6:8; Matthew 5:14–16; James 1:27; Proverbs 19:17

  • We believe that our love for one another is the true mark of discipleship.

    • John 13:34–35; Galatians 5:22–23

10. Worship & Prayer

  • We believe in worshipping YHWH in spirit and in truth, with reverence and joy, through prayer, praise, song, and thanksgiving.

    • John 4:23–24; Psalm 100:1–4; Ephesians 5:19–20

  • We believe prayer is central to the life of the believer, and we seek intimacy with YHWH through intercession, thanksgiving, and supplication.

    • Philippians 4:6; 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18; Matthew 6:6

River

About me

My name is Kimberly — Kim for short.

I am British, living in a small village in England where my back balcony opens onto a serene tidal river. It is there, in the stillness of morning, that I sit with my cup of tea and commune with the Lord Jesus. He has graciously blessed me with a peaceful, evergreen space — a sanctuary where I can quiet my heart, lay aside distractions, and simply rest in His presence.

Part of my childhood was spent at a boarding school in Africa — a season that left deep and lasting impressions on my heart. Years later, after university, I served in the rural townships, caring for those afflicted by HIV and AIDS. Before each day began, I would call together the staff and patients to pray. Humbly, the people joined me — their hearts so open, their reverence so sincere — as we surrendered our day to Jesus. In those moments, heaven felt very near.

Those who know me know that I am, above all, a passionate lover of Jesus. Since I was a little girl, I have delighted in studying the Word of God. I could pray Psalm 91 verbatim by age seven. At age eight my teacher asked the class, "does anyone know any scriptures?" I stood up and said the entire psalm! This was my first experience teaching others the word of God.

In 2013, under the Lord’s direction, I began publishing messages through the banner ‘My King Yeshua’ on YouTube. A decade later I turned 40 years old, the Lord led me to begin writing through The Goshen Foundation, where I share books, dreams, and a prophetic theme for each new year — all to the glory of His name.

Like Moses, I am not a natural speaker, and felt reluctant, yet I am called to be a watchman. And so, I lean on the Holy Spirit for grace and courage to speak when He requires it.

Seeing through a prophetic lens is both a gift and a weight. There are moments when the Lord reveals visions and messages that seem so near, as though they might unfold at any moment — yet unless He marks them with His time, we cannot know when they will come to pass. God showed Isaiah and the prophets things that are still awaiting fulfilment even now, centuries later. We are living in days when discernment and understanding of the times are urgently needed within the Body of Christ — not only to see what is happening, but to understand what we must do. The word ‘times’ does not speak merely of a date or an hour; it speaks of a season, a chapter, a divinely appointed period in God’s great design.

And so my heart’s deepest desire remains this: to be found faithful — a watchman upon the wall, sounding the shofar at the appointed time, obedient to the call of My King Yeshua.
